Lesson Four: Moving and Copying Objects

Moving Objects

  1. First launch Fireworks and create a rectangle (if you need to review how to do this, check back to Lesson 1 or Lesson 2.
  2. To move an object, you must first select it. The selecter tool in Fireworks is a black pointer. If you don't see a black pointer, click on the black pointer on the toolbar and then select the rectangle by clicking on it.



  3. To move an object, click on the object and drag it to the desired location.

Copying Objects

  1. Choose Edit > Copy from the drop-down menu.



    Note that you can also choose CTRL+C (Holding down the Ctrl and C keys) to copy an object.

  2. Choose Edit > Paste or use CTRL+V to "paste" the object.

Exercise

  1. Create a rectangle
  2. Create a copy of the rectangle
  3. Move the copy so that it is above the original.
